Welcome to YourFitnessPal. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the YourFitnessPal apps, website, and services (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Each account is for a single person — sharing logins is not permitted. You're responsible for the activity that happens under your account, so keep your credentials confidential.
You'll provide accurate information when you sign up and keep it up to date. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, that we reasonably suspect are fraudulent, or that have been inactive for an extended period (we'll notify you first).
YourFitnessPal offers paid plans through the app store you installed from. On iPhone and iPad, a paid plan is required to use the Service once your account is set up. On Android, a free tier is available with a daily limit on AI food scans.
We currently offer weekly and yearly subscriptions, which renew automatically until cancelled, and Lifetime, a single one-time purchase.
Lifetime does not refer to your lifetime. It gives you access for as long as we continue to operate YourFitnessPal and keep it available on the store you purchased from. If we discontinue the Service, Lifetime access ends with it. Nothing in these Terms obliges us to operate the Service indefinitely.
All purchases are made through Apple or Google. They take the payment, hold the billing relationship, and set the local price and currency. We never receive or store your payment details.
Subscriptions renew at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before that period ends. You cancel in your App Store or Google Play account settings. We cannot cancel on your behalf. A Lifetime purchase does not renew and has nothing to cancel.
Refunds are handled by Apple and Google under their own policies. Requests go to them, not to us.
After reinstalling the app or changing device, use Restore on the purchase screen to recover a purchase made with the same store account.
We may change prices, add plans, or change what the free tier includes. Where a change affects an active subscription, the store notifies you and you can cancel before it takes effect. A Lifetime purchase you have already made is unaffected by later price changes.
You may use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes. You will not:
You retain ownership of everything you log — your meals, weights, workouts, notes, and photos. By using the Service, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, process, and display that content solely for the purpose of operating the Service for you. We do not sell your logs. See our Privacy Policy for the full picture.
If you post in community areas, you grant a broader license to display that content to other members. You're responsible for what you post and you must follow our Community Guidelines.
The Service is provided for general informational and self-tracking purposes only. It is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Consult a qualified healthcare professional before starting any new diet or exercise program, especially if you have or suspect a medical condition.
We aim for excellent uptime, but the Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice when practical.
The Service, including its software, design, brand, and documentation, is owned by YourFitnessPal LLC and protected by applicable IP laws. Your use of the Service does not transfer any of those rights.
You can stop using the Service at any time and delete your account from Settings. We can terminate or suspend access for violations of these Terms, with notice when practical, except where prompt action is required (e.g. safety, fraud).
To the maximum extent permitted by law, YourFitnessPal will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenues, data, or goodwill arising out of your use of the Service.
Before filing a formal claim, you and we agree to attempt a good-faith resolution by emailing support@yourfitnesspal.org with 60 days to negotiate. Where binding arbitration is permitted, disputes will be resolved by individual arbitration; class-action and jury-trial rights are waived where permitted. You can opt out of arbitration within 30 days of accepting these Terms by emailing the same address.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles, except where superseded by mandatory local laws applicable to consumers.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll notify you of material changes by email or in-app before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
